Alex Cross Series Adaptation Gets Prime Video Release Date — Watch Trailer

Prime Video‘s already-renewed Cross has a Season 1 premiere date!

Amazon announced on Saturday that all eight episodes of the James Patterson adaptation will hit the streamer on Thursday, November 14.

In May, Prime Video released a first-look teaser trailer (watch above) and announced that the series has been renewed for a Season 2.

Cross, which is being shepherded by Burn Notice vet Ben Watkins, Aldis Hodge (Leverage) plays the titular detective and forensic psychologist, who is uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, in order to identify — and ultimately capture — the murderers. He’s “brilliant, flawed, and full of contradictions,” per the streamer. “A doting father and family man, Cross is single-minded to the point of obsession when he hunts killers. He is desperate for love, but his wife’s murder has left him too damaged to receive it.”

In addition to Hodge, Cross’ Season 1 ensemble includes Ryan Eggold (New Amsterdam), Isaiah Mustafa (Shadowhunters), Alona Tal (SEAL Team), Johnny Ray Gill (Underground), Juanita Jennings (Star), Samantha Walkes (Murdoch Mysteries), Jennifer Wigmore (Malory Towers), Eloise Mumford (Chicago Fire) and child actors Melody Hurd (THEM) and Caleb Elijah.

For Season 2, Jeanine Mason (Roswell, New Mexico), Matthew Lillard (Good Girls) and Wes Chatham (Ahsoka) are all confirmed to join the cast, while executive producers Jim Dunn and Sam Ernst have been elevated to co-showrunners alongside Watkins.

“Bringing one of James Patterson’s most iconic literary characters to life for our global Prime Video customers was a dream come true, and we can’t wait for everyone to see Aldis Hodge’s dynamic performance as Cross,” Amazon MGM Studios TV chief Vernon Sanders said in a statement. “Ben Watkins and his team have created something unique within the crime-thriller genre that long-time fans and newcomers alike will all enjoy. And with over 30 novels written by Patterson featuring Alex Cross as his main protagonist, it was an easy choice to bring Cross back for a second season.”
