7Airline tickets are usually not transferrable– CalchasCommented Nov 16, 2015 at 13:42

If you are the one that paid for the ticket and you are bringing a different person than the name you originally listed on the ticket, they will often allow you to change the name on the ticket (sometimes for a small fee). Giving to someone you know or in the same field lets you pick who you sit with which can lead to business or other benefits or at the least an interesting conversation. And it may not work in this case but maybe others who have the same question later will take this idea.– Luke GedeonCommented Nov 16, 2015 at 18:41

5In my experience the name change fee is usually not small if it is allowed at all.– CalchasCommented Nov 16, 2015 at 18:42

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. air-travel), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
