4In every country I know of it's OK for immediate families to go together.– lambshaanxyCommented Mar 11, 2019 at 20:06

1While I can't answer your question there's something you should be aware of: You are presumably going to be staying with her family. This means you need to register with the local police station. For us this has always been easy but I've heard of it being a hassle in some areas. Officially you need the official occupant of the property there but we have always been able to do it ourselves.– Loren PechtelCommented Mar 12, 2019 at 4:38

Also, if you travel around China beware that not all hotels will allow you to stay. If you do the bookings in English this won't be an issue, any such hotel can take foreigners. However, if they do the bookings in Chinese and don't remember to check you can get there and find you have to go find another place to stay. No fun hauling bags around trying to find a hotel!– Loren PechtelCommented Mar 12, 2019 at 4:40

From my experiences, Chinese do not honor lines. Choose whatever line is shortest and go together.– AussieJoeCommented Jul 8, 2019 at 19:33

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. air-travel), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
