Mama June Vows to Break Family ‘Curse’ of Teen Motherhood by Raising Anna Cardwell’s Daughter

Mama June Shannon is taking on the responsibility of raising her late daughter Anna Cardwell’s 11-year-old child, Kaitlyn, and has vowed to break the family “curse” of teen motherhood. Anna Cardwell passed away at the age of 29 in December 2023, after a battle with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma, leaving behind two daughters: Kylee, 8, and Kaitlyn.
Mama June has obtained emergency custody of Kaitlyn, while Kylee is currently living with her father and Anna’s ex-husband, Michael Cardwell.Mama June has expressed her determination to raise Kaitlyn as an “A-B student,” and to break the family pattern of teen motherhood.
June has also revealed that she had to hire a lawyer to gain emergency custody of Kaitlyn, as Anna had not signed any legal papers formalizing the arrangement before her passing.
