The Wild Ass Sanctuary, situated in the expansive salt marshes of the Little Rann of Kutch, is dedicated to the conservation of the endangered Indian wild ass, locally known as the 'Ghudkhar.' Spanning over 4,953 sq km, the sanctuary is also a habitat for other wildlife such as desert foxes, jackals, and a myriad of bird species, including migratory birds. Mitiyala Wildlife Sanctuary

Situated close to Gir Forest National Park, it’s among the five protected areas dedicated to Asiatic lions. Covering 18.22 sq km, it is renowned for its hilly terrain, tall grasslands, and semi-dry deciduous forests. Historically part of Bhavnagar's royal estate before independence, it gained wildlife sanctuary status in 2004. Mitiyala Wildlife Sanctuary is habitat to over 12 lions, as well as leopards, spotted deer, pangolins, and nilgai (blue bull). It offers captivating natural landscapes and scenic vistas.
