Parliament Session 2024 Highlights: 'Congress party has shamed country's parliamentary system today', says Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly reacted to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's comments on the Hindu community, asserting that there is a conspiracy to falsely accuse Hindus of being violent and warning that this narrative will not be forgotten for centuries.

In his reply during the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address in Lok Sabha, PM Modi targeted Rahul Gandhi, stating, "Jiske darshan hote hai uske pradarshan nahi hote hai" (the deity who is worshipped and sought, their depiction is not used to gain publicity).

PM Modi also emphasized that insulting gods and goddesses by the opposition is hurting 1.4 billion people in the country.

In his speech, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP-led government of a systematic attack on the idea of India and the Constitution. Gandhi also identified the Hindu symbol 'Abhayamudra'—which signifies fearlessness, reassurance, and safety—as the symbol of the Congress party.

After Rahul Gandhi's 90-minute speech they could have given the chance to their leader from Manipur. The Congress party was not ready to listen to the truth. They hatched a conspiracy to disrupt the speech of the Prime Minister. No matter how much the Leader of the Opposition's behaviour yesterday is condemned is not enough. We expect the Congress party to restrain its behaviour in the interest of the country's democracy. PM Modi spoke about NEET today. The President had mentioned NEET in his speech and today the Prime Minister also mentioned it. Tomorrow there will be a discussion in the Rajya Sabha as well," said Pradhan.

Congress should apologise to the people of Manipur for politicising such a sensitive matter... I feel sorry for the new MPs. How will they learn? When the Prime Minister is speaking, the MPs are not being given a chance to hear what he is saying. This is not the tradition of our Indian Parliamentary democracy," said Rijuju.
