Actor Salim Diwan, known for his roles in films like ‘Bollywood Diaries’ and short films such as ‘Quran’ and ‘It’s Too Late’, recently returned from his Hajj pilgrimage, a journey he describes as deeply meaningful and spiritually enriching. However, his return comes amidst the tragic news of over 1,300 pilgrims losing their lives due to extreme temperatures in Saudi Arabia.
Expressing his sorrow and concern, Salim says, “My heart goes out to the people who died recently. May Allah grant them peace.”
Sharing the impact of the news on him, the actor says, “I returned a couple of days before the heat claimed the lives of over 1,300 pilgrims. The day I landed back in Mumbai, I got to know about the incident. It’s quite unfortunate. I was getting so many calls from friends and family who knew I was on the pilgrimage. They wanted to know about my well-being.”

Reflecting on his pilgrimage experience, Salim describes it as an unforgettable journey. He says, “I started my holy journey from India on June 10 and returned on June 24. My experience of the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca will always remain special in my heart and that can't be expressed as words will fall short. Hajj holds a very significant place in my heart and the hearts of every Muslim. I am grateful to Allah that I got the chance to be part of the Hajj pilgrimage this year. It was extremely hot, around 52 degrees. Precautions, proper hydration, water intake, and juices were crucial.”
