Karan Johar reacts to re-releasing 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham': 'I have not watched it since its release'

Movies that were well-received in theaters in the past, as well as those that hold special significance in the careers of major stars, often get re-released even years later. Films like Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Rockstar’ and Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Lakshya’, were re-released recently. Many are anticipating re-releases of Karan Johar's hit films like 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, and ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, among others.
In a recent interview with News18, Karan appreciated the trend of movies being re-released in theaters. When the re-release of ‘Rockstar’ garnered numerous reactions and love on social media, Karan felt happy and proud about this trend.
The director mentioned that he feels like re-releasing ‘K3G’ when it completes 25 years, although he hasn't seen the film himself in 23 years. He occasionally watches Instagram stories and reels about the film but hasn't seen the entire movie. Karan plans to re-release it when there’s a significant milestone.

On the work front, Karan is co-producing ‘Bad Newz’, featuring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk, set to release on July 19th.
