How to know what AVI files are "broken" in VLC?
DivFix++ does something similar that could solve your problem.
DivFix++ -w *
This just "fixes" the file regardless of their sanity and overwrites the originals with the fixed ones.

How to stop VLC from blanking screens when in full screen mode?
I'm on a Mac OS X multi display setup watching movies using VLC. Whenever I enter full screen mode, the other monitors fade to black. Is there any way to prevent this?
