@peterh - The gpedit.msc capability does exist within Windows 10 Professional and Enterprise operating systems, but it isn't available on a Windows 10 Home machine.

Added 5th step to restart PC in order for policy change to take affect. Many people were erroneously saying this did not work. Confirmed it works on the newest update as of 12/27/2016.

I agree though that based on when his question was asked, it does indeed answer the question, because it does indeed disable Cortana. | |
