Thank you very much for your answer, but unfortunately it's not a case. Both print server and desktop get their settings (with static leases) from same dnsmasq based DHCP running on router. I did check it to make sure, and both get 194.168.138.0 network addresses, and 255.255.255.0 netmask. I'll add that to question.

This answer does not explain the whole problem (look for comments on question), but it was most direct cause, and lead to solution of disabling faulty feature on dd-wrt router.
