I'm guessing the 'original' PSU wasn't standard ATX - and had a separate header its expecting. I wonder if there's something in the bios that might let you turn off halting on errors?– Journeyman Geek ♦Commented Jul 1 at 8:35

youtu.be/q6sHkUNVLFU indicates there's a fan on the PSU, and I'm almost certain there's a seperate 2 pin from that to a fan header . superuser.com/questions/63431/… is a similar question that indicates these systems get a little cranky when fans are missing.– Journeyman Geek ♦Commented Jul 1 at 8:51

Typically there's an option in your bios which allows you to chose wether to halt or not on errors.– SilbeeCommented Jul 1 at 13:14

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
