Thank you very much for you reply. However none of the suggestions viable for me. Dnd some are, no longer available? CUT and Paste is a worse option in my case. I am trying to keep the shape count as low as possible. Every time a shape is cut and pasted back it does not keep the same shape ID. I have a shape called "Global", and that shape controls many things like if a switch turns on, many other shapes get sent get sent a formula to change Fillpattern, Linepattern, Angle, W/H, and others. So if the ID gets changed then I still have to do more work, getting them all back. Lock doesn't exist– MouthpearCommented Mar 14 at 7:09

Lock doesn't exist, at least in my version of Visio. It is missing and can't find it anywhere. Spent the time between your reply till now looking for it. "Next, go to the Format tab and in the Arrange group, select Lock." I have no Format Tab and Arrange group there is no Lock option. Running Visio Pro 2021.– MouthpearCommented Mar 14 at 7:24

This text might relate to a format tab that appears when an object is selected and may be different per object type. I no longer have Visio on my computer, so I cannot experiment myself.– harrymcCommented Mar 14 at 9:12

Well I tried other objects and nothing appears. It says specifically "to lock the connector" but it tried anyway. No luck.– MouthpearCommented Mar 14 at 13:15

The Format tab is where you see a style gallery for the selected connector.– harrymcCommented Mar 14 at 13:24

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
