May 31, 2021 at 12:44 comment added harrymc It's impossible to modify the BIOS, as it's digitally signed. If you reset the device, then you should be safe enough. This lack of support of the S3 power state is probably built into the BIOS. Ask Dell Support, but don't expect too much.
May 31, 2021 at 12:29 comment added Arjun K Shibu Ok thanks.! But there is one more thing I would like to point out. This laptop was attacked by a ransomware and encrypted my files. I had to format and reset windows, Do you think something changed that?
May 31, 2021 at 7:50 comment added harrymc I'm afraid I don't know of a solution for your computer. You might as last resort try getting in touch with Dell Support. You could point them at this post, for them to better understand the problem.
May 31, 2021 at 6:39 comment added Arjun K Shibu Thanks!, but I tried updated yesterday everything was new still flashed the downloaded one. No change
May 30, 2021 at 19:27 comment added harrymc Your BIOS seems to be hardwired to "Modern Standby" and the S3 power state is not supported. Try perhaps the latest BIOS update (carefully), if you don't have it already. If it also doesn't support this mode, then I'm afraid that there's nothing more to be done.
May 30, 2021 at 18:55 comment added Arjun K Shibu I did, the new registry key is there, but after the restarting as per mentioned nothing happens. Still the same. Guess I'll have to let it be the same.
May 30, 2021 at 17:58 comment added harrymc Try to disable "Modern Standby" this way.
May 30, 2021 at 17:45 comment added Arjun K Shibu there seems to be no such option. I checked all over, but no such option.
