By moving the VS package cache I did manage to save a lot of space on the primary drive, but I don't think it answers this question. The folder which ended up virtually empty as a result of moving the VS package cache was C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Packages , not C:\ProgramData\Package Cache .
