On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Full elections have three phases and an optional fourth phase (Primary):

  1. Question Collection
  2. Nomination
  3. Primary
  4. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

It is important to build a high quality knowledge base around Polkadot, and I feel confident in helping out the moderators to maintain it.
I have been active in this SE from the beginning and plan to continue this :)

I'm working on Polkadot since 2018. I have written and seen a lot of the Polkadot-SDK code base. Thus, I have a broad knowledge on Polkadot & Substrate which will help me as a moderator on this stackexchange.

Hi!

I have been an active user on this site since its early days, visiting almost daily for the past two years.

I have received a lot of positive feedback from developers after assisting them with my answers, which reinforces my belief in the importance of this platform for new developers coming into the ecosystem.

Some stats:

  • 285 answers and 18 questions

  • +235 comments and +25 edits

  • A badge for visiting the site for 100 consecutive days

Based on this experience, I am confident that I can be valuable helping the moderation team maintaining the quality of this site.

Improving education around Polkadot and its SDK has been one of my top areas of focus and I hope for it to become even more effective as a moderator. I have 5 years of experience in Polkadot and am currently a Polkadot fellowship member.

I've been working in the Polkadot ecosystem since 2019 and started using Rust in 2015.

I have a lot of experience in this field and am quite active on this site.

Most of the other candidates come from Parity and I think it would be beneficial to have individuals from different teams.

I focused on XCM related questions, with an adoption rate of 53% for my answers. Additionally, I am the second ranked user under the XCM tag, and I will continue to pay attention to the questions under this tag.

This election is over.
