Juan Yepez, Keibert Ruiz homer as Nationals dump Reds

Juan Yepez went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer to help the Washington Nationals to an 8-5 win in the opener of their three-game set against the visiting Cincinnati Reds on Friday. Washington has won three of its past four games. Nationals starter Patrick Corbin (2-9) was solid through six innings, allowing only one run on three hits, with six strikeouts and no walks. Reliever Kyle Finnegan faced two batters in the ninth, walking one to bring the tying run to the plate but retiring the other for his 26th save.
