Skift Terms of Service

This page describes the terms and conditions that govern your use of certain products or services, including Skift, Skift Research, Skift Meetings, Daily Lodging Report, Airline Weekly, My Skift, Skift Advisory, Ask Skift, and Skift Live, offered by Skift, Inc. (“Skift,” “us,” or “we”). 

Please read these terms carefully before using any Skift products or services, as these terms affect your legal rights. 

This is a legally binding contract between you and Skift, and by using Skift you agree to the following Terms of Service. We reserve the right to update these terms from time to time as necessary. Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy defines what information  we collect, use and disclose in terms of personal information from our users and is incorporated into these Terms of Service.

Content Ownership

Other than where explicitly stated, Skift owns all the text, images, marks, logos and other content contained in the site (including all designs, text, graphics, pictures, information, data, content and the layout, style and arrangement thereof — collectively, the “Site Content”).

Trademarks

The Skift logo and name is ours. Please don’t use it without asking us first.

Feel free to link to Skift. Of course, we are happy for you to use snippets of Skift content on your own website, but you need to ask for our permission first. Send us an email through [email protected], with your url and the Skift text you would like to use and, more than likely, we will be pleased to give you permission to use it. We will ask that you credit us for the content you use and include our logo on any page where it appears. We will also insist that you don’t associate our content with any illegal or objectionable material. 

Prohibited Usage

You may not access or use, or attempt to access or use, Skift content or services to take any action that could harm us or a third party. You may not use Skift content in violation of applicable laws, including export controls and sanctions, or in violation of our or any third party’s intellectual property or other proprietary or legal rights. You further agree that you will not attempt (or encourage or support anyone else’s attempt) to circumvent, reverse engineer, decrypt, or otherwise alter or interfere with Skift, or make any unauthorized use of Skift content. Without our prior written consent, you shall not:

  1. access any part of Skift content, data, or information you do not have permission or authorization to access, or for which we have revoked your access;
  2. use robots, spiders, scripts, services, software, or any manual or automatic device, tool, or process designed to data mine or scrape Skift content, or otherwise use, access, or collect Skift content using automated means;
  3. use Skift for the development of any software program, model, algorithm, or generative AI tool, including, but not limited to, training or using Skift in connection with the development or operation of a machine learning or artificial intelligence (AI) system (including any use of Skift for training, fine-tuning, or grounding the machine learning or AI system or as part of retrieval-augmented generation).
  4. use services, software or any manual or automatic device, tool, or process designed to circumvent any restriction, condition, or technological measure that controls access Skift in any way, including overriding any security feature, bypassing or circumventing any access controls or use limits of the Services, or failing to abide by exclusionary protocols such as the Robots Exclusion Protocol or the Automated Content Access protocol (our robots.txt notice does not constitute our prior written consent under these Terms of Service);
  5. cache or archive Skift (except for a public search engine’s use of spiders for creating search indices solely for the inclusion of links and short, non-AI synthesized snippets of Skift in search results);
  6. take action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our network or infrastructure.

We’ll investigate, and if necessary, delete the content and, if the submitting member is a repeat offender, and doesn’t respond to rational words of warning, we’ll close his or her account.
