Congratulations to all mentees who have successfully completed our inaugural MoveNow Mentoring Program initiative! Mentored by Allianz employees, our dedicated mentees, including youth and para-athletes, embarked on a 6-month transformative journey that enabled them to gain the essential tools, mindset, industry knowledge and confidence to transition from academia to the professional workplace. Through our global MoveNow program, we're committed to moving people of the next generation across the globe through global and local initiatives. In Singapore, our MoveNow Mentoring Program is a testament to our efforts to develop young talents through building meaningful relationships with industry professionals to fuel their personal and professional growth for a brighter future. Allianz Asia Pacific proudly launched its first Allianz Executive Women’s Networking Session. The event featured Anusha Thavarajah, Regional Chief Executive Officer, Allianz Asia Pacific, who joined our women leaders to enhance networking, and discuss inclusive leadership, empowerment, as well as mentorship. Anusha also shared her career steps, in the insurance industry and before, in an inspirational talk that brought new insights and ideas for own growth and development. The participants across Allianz entities in Singapore engaged in lively discussions and committed to applying key takeaways in their daily lives. We were privileged to host Team Singapore Paralympian and Boccia athlete, Nurulasyiqah Md. Taha, PLY Mohammad Taha at our MoveNow Mentoring Program Fireside Chat. Nurul discussed her Boccia journey, experiences at the London and Rio Paralympics, and the life and career lessons learned through sports. She highlighted her challenges, the importance of resilience, and the role of mentors in her life. Nurul emphasized the critical support of her team, especially during her fourth-place finish at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. As part of Allianz’s celebration of Vesak day this year, our Allianz GRACE network in Singapore recently organised a special employee event for Allianz colleagues in Singapore.   To kick start the session, our executive sponsors, Heval Polat and Jeffrey Manuel welcomed the attendees with an overview and introduction of the event’s purpose.   Moderated by Daniel Thomas Noé, who leads our Allianz GRACE network in Singapore, the informative hour-long fireside chat featured Loh Wei, a dedicated practitioner of Buddhism with Dharma Drum Singapore, and William Chen, our AZAP Regional Head of Ops and IT Strategy, Performance Management, who has been practicing Buddhism for over three decades. Allianz Asia Pacific has achieved a 13 per cent increase in total revenue to EUR 2.2 billion, and a total operating profit for Asia which rose 17 per cent to EUR 183 million in the first quarter of 2024, reflecting on the organisation’s resilience and effective execution of the company’s strategic initiatives across all markets. Our Life & Health operating profit increased by 16 per cent to EUR 141 million with New Business Value (NBV) up 41 per cent to EUR 149 million, and Annualised Premium (ANP) rising to 13 per cent to EUR 295 million. Our Property & Casualty operating profit up 18 per cent increase to EUR 42 million, with total revenues up 15 per cent to EUR 535 million.
