    Today I’ve been to No 11 Downing Street to meet with the new Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, and take part in an important discussion about how we tackle the challenges in infrastructure investment and the planning process.   It is welcome to hear that the new government want to provide more commitment, clarity and certainty for the construction sector as a whole and remove the risk of more public sector project delays that have far-reaching impacts on our industry.   In addition to this, alongside 12 other Tier 1 contractors, Skanska UK is supporting Blueprint for Growth, which outlines in detail the actions needed to secure reliable investment, efficient policy and planning processes and provide visibility of a secure pipeline.     It may only be the first week for the new UK government but construction is clearly high on the agenda. Skanska UK’s President & CEO Katrina Dowding met the Chancellor today to discuss the challenges and opportunities for our sector.

    Elektrisk på 64°N – OPS Hålogalandsvegen   Dette syntes jeg er skikkelig tøft! På prosjektet #OPSHålogalandsvegen har #Skanska sitt datterselskap #Vassbakk&Stol tatt i bruk 3 stk. elektriske tippsemier. Bilene er av typen #VolvoFHElectric, utstyrt med en batteripakke på 540 kWh, og benyttes til massetransport i prosjektet. Massivt batteri til massiv jobb! Vi er ikke de første som benytter elektriske tippbiler til massetransport. Men det er utvilsomt noe annet å ta slikt utstyr i bruk på 64°N, enn det er i mer sentrale og urbane strøk andre steder i landet. Det er rett og slett mer vær – og mindre infrastruktur. Men dette skal vi klare, og så langt går det bra! Etter sommerferien setter også vår samarbeidspartner #HæhreEntreprenør inn ytterligere 2 stk. Volvo FH Electric til sin massetransport. Da har vi totalt 5 stk. elektriske tippsemier i sving på OPS Hålogalandsprosjektet. Veldig stas! Bruk av de elektriske tippsemiene kommer som et resultat av at prosjektets byggherre #StatensVegvesen har satt tydelige og ambisiøse klima- og miljømål for gjennomføringen av prosjektet. At det etter sommeren kjører i alt 5. stk. Volvo FH Electric på prosjektet er et synlig bevis på at det å sette krav i samferdselskontrakter bidrar til å dra den fossilfrie utviklingen i riktig retning. #ViVilMer God sommer!

    Welcoming Citygate, Gothenburg – the tallest office building in the Nordics – to our Investment Properties portfolio. This acquisition boosts our portfolio value by almost 50%, securing commercial assets under management in Sweden’s three largest cities: Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö. We developed and built Citygate to have a focus on sustainability and wellbeing, and it has already attracted international and Swedish tenants in many different industries. Citygate offers a wide range of services including a restaurant, café, bike hotel, gym and our own co-working space.
