There is laser-based training and laser-based training with true realism. By using powerful computers, our laser-based training offers true ballistics meaning we are giving each weapon and each round specific characteristics. The end result is more realistic training with more confident soldiers.

Saab, together with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), is supporting SMaRC (Swedish Maritime Robotics Centre). SMaRC is Sweden's largest academic effort within underwater robotics.  The research centre has secured continued funding over the next seven years, a commitment that strengthens Sweden's position in maritime innovation. Marcus Wandt has been appointed Chief Innovation Officer. Saab’s former Chief Test Pilot will assume the newly created position to coordinate innovation initiatives to ensure that we will continue to be at the forefront of new technologies. “For me, Sweden is a country built on knowledge, innovation and well-balanced values. Saab is a brilliant example of how knowledge, innovations and values can manifest themselves in a company that maintains and increases its competitiveness and thus influence, not only in Europe but also globally. Meet Angelica, one of the faces of Saab from our latest film series 'Shielding the Baltic Sea'. “A lot of people have recognized me,” says Angelica Persson, who is an electrical engineer by training. ”Co-workers and Saab employees have been really positive, but also friends and family and people outside the defence sector." The series has proved popular with both the defence and civilian communities, with more than 100,000 views of the episodes in the month following its release. And many of those who have pressed play have been impressed by Angelica’s depth of knowledge and her easy-to-grasp explanations of complex scenarios.
