🏥 🏠 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥-𝐚𝐭-𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞! 🏥 🏠 We are pleased to share a new policy report authored by our very own Dr. Philip Smith, written on behalf of the think tank Forum för Health Policy. This comprehensive report explores the benefits and challenges associated with the broad implementation of HaH in Sweden based on international experiences and current research findings. 𝐖𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 - 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 “𝐈’𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐲” 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭. In short, HaH is a safe and resource-efficient alternative to inpatientcare, appreciated by both patients and health care personnel. HaH may provide an important contribution to current challenges with both demographic development as well as health care personnel recruitment and retention. Sweden has several favorable conditions for a broad-scale implementation but the following areas still needs attention: * 𝘊𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 * 𝘊𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘣𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘉𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘧𝘢𝘳𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦, 𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘏𝘢𝘏 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺 * 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯-𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 * 𝘛𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘏𝘢𝘏 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘦, 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘒/𝘕𝘏𝘚 * 𝘙𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭 #näravård #Hospitalathome #sjukhushemma

🌍HLTH Amsterdam🌍 We had a fantastic experience at the first-ever HLTH Europe conference in Amsterdam this week! Home care was undeniably the hot topic in the health tech community. The concept of Hospital-at-Home emerged as a game-changer, highlighted across several of the seminars we attended. One standout session was the panel discussion “Last Mile: Localising Access for Underserved Areas.” Prathiba Varken, President of Mayo Clinic Health System, delivered powerful insights on how Hospital at Home initiatives are critical in bridging healthcare access gaps, particularly in rural communities. This is not just a local issue but a global challenge that needs immediate and innovative solutions. We're inspired and motivated to see how these discussions will shape the future of healthcare, making quality care accessible to everyone, regardless of their location. #Hospital-at-home #Hah #näravård #sjukhushemma

Yesterday, Medoma was proud to participate in a seminar organized by Tankesmedjan Synaps (think tank), focusing on improving conditions for healthcare workers. Politicians and healthcare administration representatives are actively seeking new tools to boost recruitment and retention in the industry. Traditional incentives like salary increases, other benefits, and reduced working hours are essential but must be complemented with structural changes. At Medoma, we believe that evidence-backed initiatives like Hospital-at-home (HaH) have the potential to be a part of the structural changes so urgently needed. Recent employee surveys from the virtual department at S:t Görans sjukhus revealed an impressive eNPS of 90 (!) for their HaH-program, where an eNPS of 10-30 is already considered a success. This indicates not only the ease of recruiting for HaH but also high employee satisfaction and retention.
