It has been over a week ago since our 3rd Evertiq Expo Berlin. 😊 With yet again a 📈 record breaking year with increased exhibitors and visitors we look back at a fantastic event 👏 that will surely continue to grow in the upcomming years. And we are still talking about all the fun we had during the European Championship ⚽️ match we watched together on the night before the Expo. That was really special. 🚨For all those that attended or missed our Expo and the dinner please find here all the pictures taken at Evertiq Expo Berlin 2024: https://lnkd.in/eMYSr4K7 #evertiqexpo #berlin #electronicsmanufacturing #pictures

Key segments of the EU's electronics manufacturing industry are set to decline – undermining Europe’s security, industrial resiliency, and global competitiveness. A recent analysis by IPC reveals Europe's increasing reliance on foreign regions for electronics manufacturing in critical and strategic sectors such as aerospace and defence. Even with the adoption of the European Chips Act, the report – Securing EU’s Electronics Ecosystem – shows that the EU’s market share in critical electronics components other than chips, such as PCBs, electronic manufacturing services EMS, and advanced packaging, will fall to 15% by 2035. Evertiq has previously reported on the challenging situation the European industry is facing – especially the PCB industry. Over the previous two decades, the PCB industry in Europe has seen a severe decline, one could even call it an erosion. In passing the Chips Act, the EU made a strategic, but narrowly crafted commitment to the electronics industry – but rebuilding a robust and sustainable European electronics ecosystem requires revitalising and expanding electronics production beyond chips. According to the IPC, a "silicon to systems" strategy is required – even necessary – to support ongoing EU technological leadership and achieve strategic objectives. #electronics #electronicsmanufacturing #semiconductor #semiconductormanufacturing #PCB #PCBindustry #electronicsindustry #semiconductorindustry #evertiqexpo

There will be no #AI revolution in 2024, but there will be rapid evolution. This is the conclusion of Dr Maciej Kawecki from his 30-day trip to the US, during which he met with founders of the largest AI companies in the world, including three of the five highest-valued US companies. Evertiq Expo Krakow in Poland is fast approaching, and the theme of this year's expo is “Future Technologies”, which gave Evertiq a perfect opportunity to invite Dr Maciej Kawecki as a keynote speaker. Make sure not to miss his inauguration of the expo, where he will introduce the audience to the world of hallucinations and AI.

The printed circuit board (#PCB) is the building block for #electronic systems, providing electrical connection and physical structure to electronic systems with additional optical interconnect and thermal management. The PCB is ubiquitous and an integral part of nearly all electronic products. In 2023, the global PCB market was estimated at USD 87 billion, with over 90% being produced in Asia. For many years, Asian PCB manufacturers have outcompeted and outpaced European production. It has already been established that the primary drivers were price competitiveness and a significant outsourcing tsunami sweeping the entire electronics sector. Since the early 2000s and the dotcom crash, PCB production has been steadily migrating from Europe and North America to Asia In 2000, Europe's domestic PCB manufacturing accounted for 16% of the global total; by 2022, this figure had dropped to 2.3%. At the same time, the number of European PCB manufacturers fell from 555 to around 180, with the top 20 European manufacturers accounting for 60% of total production value, as pointed out by The European Institute for the PCB Community- EIPC Services BV. For this very reason, Evertiq has invited Alun Morgan, President of The European Institute for the PCB Community- EIPC Services BV, to participate as a keynote speaker at the Evertiq Expo in Berlin, Germany on June 20, 2024, to paint a clearer picture of the industry, and where we currently are heading.

Marco Mezger, Executive Vice President and COO of Neumonda, has once again shared his expertise and insights with us at Evertiq. Following the #earthquake in #Taiwan in April, the industry expected an impact on #chip and especially #memory prices. After all, 65% of the world’s advanced nodes are being produced there, and when it comes to #AI servers the figure is even higher. #semiconductorindustry #semiconductormanufacturing #semiconductors #semiconductor
Did we finally learn the lesson, or is this just the calm before the storm?

Skeleton Technologies has chosen France and the Occitanie region to expand its activities. The group says that it plans to invest EUR 600 million within five years. In the first phase of its expansion, Skeleton will start R&D activities in Toulouse to develop next-generation battery technology. In the second phase, the group has plans to build a manufacturing facility in the Occitanie region to produce the company’s high-power battery called “SuperBattery”.
