    1974. The year when the World Cup could be watched live in color for the first time, and Richard Nixon stepped down as President of the USA. It's also the year when our Essity Health & Medical colleague Jean Johnson joined the JOBST team… 50 years ago!   When Jean joined the company back then, the JOBST brand already had a strong reputation for quality with its earliest generations of ready-to-wear support stockings. Today JOBST is the No.1 brand for lymphatic conditions globally, and Jean continues to contribute to this success through her everyday work in providing high quality JOBST compression garments. Her steadfast dedication to serving our patients and customers in the best way is an inspiration for us all.   This is Jean presenting a range of custom seamed JOBST garments produced at our Hickory, US site to Essity Group CEO Magnus Groth. She is also seen here in the company newsletter from 1984❗and more recently, with Essity Group Chief HR Officer Anna Sävinger Åslund and VP HR for Health & Medical Anette Östling. We are so very proud of Jean and the tens of thousands of Essity colleagues like her who are making a huge difference every day to improve lives and well-being for people around the world.     Steine als Toilettenpapierersatz waren früher angesagt - wer hätte das gedacht? 🚽 In alten römischen und griechischen Latrinen dienten anscheinend kleine flache Steine und Keramikscherben als Toipa-Ersatz. 🚽 Weitere Alternativen waren etwa Blätter, Moos, Heu, Stroh, Lumpen, mit Tüchern umwickelte Stöcke, alte Bücher/Zeitungen und Papierreste. 🚽 1875 kam dann die Zeitenwende: In den USA bringt Josef Gayetti „Medizinisches Papier fürs Wasserclosett“ auf den Markt. Unsere Erfolgsgeschichte beginnt kurz darauf: Die Geschichte unserer Zellstofffabrik Waldhof in #Mannheim geht bis ins Jahr 1884 zurück. Seither hat das Werk einige Modernierungsarbeiten erlebt, die wegen der alten und zum Teil denkmalgeschützten Gebäude herausfordernd waren. Mittlerweile ist es zum größten (!) europäischen Werk von Essity herangewachsen. In Mannheim stellen wir nicht nur Zellstoff auf Holz- und Strohbasis her, sondern beliefern auch einige andere unserer Standorte europaweit. Hier ist das Zuhause von Marken wie #DANKE, #Tempo, #Tork und natürlich #Zewa. 💡 Übrigens: Zewa ist abgeleitet von Zellstofffabrik Waldhof und wurde bereits 1915 als Marke eingetragen.
