750 meters electric road in Belgium in 2 days ✅ AISIN, a global leader in automotive components, has established a dedicated electric road-testing facility in Mons, Belgium, to facilitate the development and smooth integration of its onboard charging equipment. The electric road is instrumental for Aisin in refining its product offerings and accelerating the testing process, benefiting not only Aisin but also its partner OEMs throughout Europe. Their benchmarking led them to select Elonroad's conductive rail technology as the optimal solution to accelerate their electrification efforts, and last week, the installation was ready. Voilà - a 750-meter electric road in Mons: 🛣 Technical solutions: Conductive Electric Road  🤓 Length: 750 meters  ⚡️ Power: 300 kW continuously at 90 kph for trucks, 100 kW continuously at 130 kph for vans or cars 🌏 Where: Mons, Belgium Mr. Shizuo Abe, Chief Electric Leader at AISIN, emphasizes, "Partnering with Elonroad aligns perfectly with our vision for electric mobility. This installation in Mons is pivotal for testing and refining our electrification solutions." Per Löfberg, Senior Project Leader and coordinator at the site on Elonroad's behalf, adds, “It has been a joy. This installation is ideally located, and Aisin is an ideal partner to work with. Together, we are in the middle of Europe—showcasing a technology that will revolutionize transportation. The system is very smooth to install. Here are some updates from Dubai, where our business analyst, Zannah Walker, participated in the Intelak Hub accelerator program and at the second edition of ForsaTEK, an innovation event. ForsaTEK is derived from 'Forsa,' which means 'your opportunities' in Arabic. It also plays on 'technology' and the Emirates (code 'EK'). During the week, Zannah came across some different learnings:    🪞 It is not just about what you offer but who you are and, more importantly, who we are. To meet climate goals, we all need to move forward with a collective goal to redefine the future of travel for a more greener and cleaner environment. 🛠  Intrapreneurship is critical to achieving sustainability goals within current business units. Not only to improve productivity and efficiency but also to take us closer to minimizing greenhouse gas emissions without hampering operational efficiency. 🤝 There is no one solution to solving the stressing problem of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This has to be done in tandem with other solutions to solve the different industry pain points. We want to thank Emirates Group, Dubai Airports Innovation team, and dnata for being top hosts for innovation and a great event. It's so powerful to gather the ecosystem 💥 🇫🇷 At Drive to Zero, we had insightful discussions during a roundtable on electric roads (ERS), focusing on key points such as ERS' potential for decarbonizing heavy truck fleets and the need for rapid deployment with European collaboration. The round table was also an opportunity to present the various projects and study groups that exist in Europe. Highlighting the outcome of the discussions: ERS is the best solution for decarbonizing heavy truck fleets, provided it's deployed rapidly with the agreement of European collaboration and unity.         The event also provided an opportunity for us to engage in a meaningful dialogue with representatives of truck users such as FEDERATION NATIONALE DES TRANSPORTS ROUTIERS (FNTR), OTRE - Organisation des Transporteurs Routiers Européens, TLV, infrastructure specialists COLAS, truck manufacturers Scania Group, Renault Trucks, and technology providers. Gathering the ecosystem in this manner is genuinely fruitful, and recognizing the importance of our collective efforts in addressing the challenges and opportunities of this new technology. Does everything have to come to an end? Well, we see this as the beginning. The Evolution Road electric road project in Lund concludes after 5️⃣ years of groundbreaking testing of our conductive electric road technique. Commissioned by Trafikverket, The Swedish Transport Administration, the Evolution Road consortium began testing Elonroad’s technology in 2019. The project aimed to explore the usage, construction, operation, and maintenance of electric roads and their potential to reduce emissions from heavy traffic. TAKEAWAYS This project has provided valuable insights and validated how electric roads can enhance electrified transport and reduce climate emissions. 1️⃣ The project has attracted significant international interest, bringing visitors to Lund to witness Elonroad's conductive electric road firsthand. 2️⃣ Collaboration between companies, researchers, and the public sector has been key, conducting numerous tests to verify the technology and generate new knowledge. 3️⃣ The electric road enables a 50% reduction in vehicle battery size, offering substantial environmental benefits. The conductive technology supports the high power demands of freight transport, such as buses and trucks, and has proven reliable in cold climates. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? The final phase of Evolution Road involves dismantling the electric road, and the results will now inform the Swedish Transport Administration's ongoing efforts toward fossil-free transportation. Elonroad continues to build electric roads, highlighting the first electric highway outside Paris on the A10, which is one of our ongoing projects with VINCI.
