I grew up with Asian dragons (well, not literally). Strangely enough, I don't find Smaug to look like an Asian dragon, save for the fur. It might be because of the art style. More often than not, their look is closer to that of the dragon in Buddhism, which is like Shen Long's appearance in Dragon Ball.– ClockworkCommented Apr 10, 2022 at 1:59
