Nov 2, 2021 at 6:39 comment added Ver Nick @JacobC. Me too. It looks more consistent, because Doc has been there for the second time and this just showed him remembering the exact time.
Aug 15, 2019 at 16:24 comment added called2voyage In regards to the robotic waters imitating celebrities, we might not have that, but this does seem to be an accurate prediction of deepfakes. The term is from 2017, but the technology was already in place and released by at least 2016. So at worst, only a year off.

Apr 12, 2019 at 19:48 comment added Jacob C. I always assumed the "down to the tick" rain/watch thing was just him having previously noted when it would stop raining on a prior pass through that period.
Apr 12, 2019 at 14:59 comment added MissouriSpartan The hoverboard in BTTF II actually did exist (and worked outside of metal platforms), but Mattel didn't actually create many because parental safety groups put on pressure that kids might get hurt on them, due to many accidents that had occurred during play testing. As a result, the hoverboard (that worked even on non-metallic surfaces) ended up only being seen as the legendary movie prop. Today, yes the hoverboard exists, but as 1) a rolling sideways skateboard with power, or 2) something that works only on metal surfaces. The TRUE hoverboard from the film still hasn't appeared.

Nov 30, 2015 at 3:13 comment added Krazer Minor missed hits: Scenery TV Some more misses: Self adjusting/drying jackets, the sleep-inducing alpha-rhythm generator, soundboard vest (see Grif's thug, Data), fax machine proliferation, Black & Decker Food Hydrator. On baseball: Cubs against a Miami (gator) team in the World Series NEVER (Marlins are National).

Oct 22, 2015 at 0:30 comment added Wad Cheber Update: The fourth game of the playoffs has just begun, and in the top of the first inning, the Mets got back to back home runs. The score is already 4-0 Mets, so the Cubs are probably done. It would be almost unheard of for the Cubs to come back from such a big lead.

Oct 21, 2015 at 21:11 comment added Wad Cheber Update: The Mets won again last night. The Cubs have one last chance to stay alive.
Oct 20, 2015 at 12:48 comment added The Fallen Also, the Cubs haven't even been to the world series since 1945, not just not worth it
Oct 20, 2015 at 2:47 comment added Wad Cheber Update: The Mets have won two games against the Cubs in the NL pennant. The pennant is best of seven games, so it is looking less likely that the Cubs will make it into the World Series. If the Mets win two more games, they go to the series. The Cubs have to win four games to make it. Not impossible, but difficult.

Oct 17, 2015 at 19:28 comment added Ed Swangren Awesome post, but I think hoverboards are a massive stretch. The way in which hoverboards are currently implemented will never allow them to mimic those in BFII. We would need an entirely different technology, so I would say that the technology has certainly not been invented. I realize that you allude to this yourself.
