9If I had to make a guess, I'd say that Sirius has been exposed to dementors for an overwhelming amount of time (several years at Azkaban, even in animal form it can't be easy). I bet he was feeling too down to make a patronus. See, patronus counters dementors, but, in a way, dementors also counter patronus.– SaturnCommented May 11, 2014 at 11:28
