Mar 5, 2021 at 18:00 comment added LogicDictates @Reinstate Monica -- notmaynard - The question only asked whether Muppets are human or not, not what else they were, if not human.
Mar 5, 2021 at 17:58 comment added Lindsey D Schrödinger's species. Muppets are their own unique species, and simultaneously, extensions of a normal species.
Mar 5, 2021 at 17:53 comment added Reinstate Monica -- notmaynard I'm not sure this really answers the heart of the question. In The Muppet Movie, is Kermit a frog like other frogs, which one could eat like other frogs and would taste like other frogs? Or is he a Muppet frog, i.e. a being whose manifestation is frog but whose essence is Muppet, which makes him inedible (though much better at appearing in commercials)?

Mar 4, 2021 at 15:51 comment added Mast Miss Piggy is clearly a pig too.
Mar 4, 2021 at 14:44 comment added Darrel Hoffman Other prominent human Muppets: the Swedish Chef, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem (possible exception of Animal), Bert and Ernie, the Count (if you consider vampires human), Scooter (and by extension Skeeter, but I think she was only ever seen in animated form), Walter (a more recent addition).
Mar 4, 2021 at 14:40 comment added PlutoThePlanet I think much stronger evidence for Kermit being an in-universe frog is that the entire plot of The Muppet Movie (1979) revolved around a frog leg producer trying to catch him.
Mar 4, 2021 at 10:20 comment added Robyn Yes, the furry brightly coloured Sesame Street people are "monsters". Oscar and other garbage-loving furry people are "grouches".

Mar 4, 2021 at 0:32 comment added Valorum And Elmo is a monster "Elmo is a 3½-year-old red monster with a high pitched voice and a contagious giggle. Enthusiastic, friendly and cheerful, he always wants to be part of everything that goes on. However, like most preschoolers, he sometimes doesn't have the skills or knowledge to do what he wants. But that never stops him because he has a very positive, optimistic view of himself and life." - web.archive.org/web/20140714121954/http://…
