1Are you saying the Borg planned for Seven to be sleeper agent when they sent her to negotiate with Voyager? That doesn't sound very Borg-like. I interpret the quote as saying "We put you there to speak on our behalf. You think you were liberated, but you were always Borg and now we will make the best of this situation and reassimilate you."– ThunderforgeCommented May 13, 2017 at 23:54

1@Thunderforge - I always took it to mean "we planted you there, where you could learn everything important about the Federation but in an environment where we could recapture you whenever needed"– ValorumCommented May 13, 2017 at 23:56

2@Thunderforge - You may also wish to note that the Queen is not above lying for effect.– ValorumCommented May 13, 2017 at 23:57

Fair point about the Queen lying for the effect. I guess I'm wondering if you are saying that they planned for a Seven to be de-assimilated by Voyager's crew. That seems far-fetched to me.– ThunderforgeCommented May 14, 2017 at 0:01

2@Thunderforge - That's precisely what I'm saying. We know from future episodes that the Queen was always able to directly communicate with Seven and to recall her to the Collective.– ValorumCommented May 14, 2017 at 0:01

A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
Type the name of the science fictional or fantastical work your question is about (Example:
star-wars
).For questions not specific to any one work, use concept tags to describe your question (Example:
story-identification
).Tagging rules:
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. story-identification), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
