I know that Potions, Scrolls and Wands vary in price, depending on class making them. This is explained by the fact they are usually made at lowest possible CL and have a fixed CL of spell being placed in those items. This does have a hidden benefit of spell being the higher CL though.

None of that is the case with Staves.

Staves don't have table with different prices based on class. Staves don't have hidden benefit of higher CL either, because spells placed in Staves are cast based on user's CL, not crafter's chosen CL at the moment of creation.

Does this mean I can, as a Sorcerer, craft staff of, let's say, Antimagic Field:

  • For the price of 400 * 6 * 11 = 26,400?

...or do I have to:

  • Spend 400 * 6 * 12 = 28,800?

DISCLAIMER: Of course we're talking RAW here. This means custom magic items made freely from crafting tables and GM having no say in theany matter even remotely related to rules.
