Jun 7 at 10:55 comment added Arek Kubiński @NobodytheHobgoblin While I get what you mean I think you's answer don't address that exhaustion from thirst is much more aggressive than from sleep deprivation granted OP specified utilization of Constructed Resilience feature. But yeah, if caster would fall asleep then it's all over like you said.
Jun 7 at 10:42 comment added Nobody the Hobgoblin @ArekKubiński I think the point is that you rack up exhaustion from not getting to sleep, which kills you. If you just fall asleep, you surely can still be under the influcence of the spell, but you would not get exhausted from sleep deprivation. And the caster certainly cannot keep it up if they fall asleep, because they are also incapacitated then. You are right you might have the victim die of starvation/thirst, if they cannot eat or drink.
Jun 7 at 10:37 comment added Arek Kubiński Where in the description of the spell it says that target need to be awake to be under the effect of the spell? And while you need to drink and eat to reduce exhaustion from long resting that would not invalidate that strategy and change nothing.

(Which is a brilliant hook for an adventure, just having these two enduring creatures locked in place and each trying to convince the players to save it over the other)

May 22 at 4:28 comment added Henrique Constructed Resilience says: "You don't need to eat, drink, or breathe." But yes, if the target could sleep on its own it would be a way out!
