Welcome!

Welcome! I am a PhD candidate in Political Science at MIT. My dissertation research focuses on how states shape international institutions without explicitly changing or breaking the rules. More broadly, I am interested in power transitions and international order, and the adoption and strategic effects of emerging technologies. Ultimately, I am intruiged by what actors gain and lose by 'going first'. In my spare time, I enjoy karaoke and trying out new recipies, and harbor dreams of opening a Chinese restaurant one day.

Before MIT, I worked in the financial crimes risk strategy division of an international bank in Hong Kong. I graduated with first class honors from the University of St Andrews, where I read International Relations and Modern History. I also hold an MA from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, during which I spent a semster abroad at the Sorbonne.
