Top row:

TEMPERATE = TEMPE + RAT + E
CHARITABLE = CHA + RITA + BLE
DILIGENT = (IL ID)< + GENT
KIND = K IN D
PATIENT = TIE in PANT(-s)

These are adjectives referring to the first six of the seven capital virtues in Christianity. The seventh would be HUMBLE.

MENTORS = ENT in MORS(-e) (The Morse code characters spell 'THIS CODE'; 80% of MORSE is MORS.)
