$\begingroup$ Does the h stand for a hash function? The length of all the strings is 70, which indicates a hash. $\endgroup$– user37842Commented May 13, 2020 at 15:26

1$\begingroup$ The h is in the story. Small clue : If h is a hash and even if you know the hash, then you can't decrypt this by hand. But as I mentioned, the cipher can be cracked by hand ( almost , as there's nothing to brute force ) if you know the encryption. $\endgroup$– Yuzuriha InoriCommented May 13, 2020 at 15:29

$\begingroup$ "I want timestamps on every incoming message through all sources, whether hard or soft." What is meant by "hard or soft"? Is this the "h"? $\endgroup$– user37842Commented Jun 10, 2020 at 20:43

$\begingroup$ @Mike Sorry for the extremely late reply, but no, hard or soft just means hard copy (printed paper etc) or soft (database, screenshots, etc). $\endgroup$– Yuzuriha InoriCommented Jul 1, 2020 at 20:57

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. logical-deduction), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
