  • $\begingroup$ In the Nurikabe, are the shaded ones the "islands" or the "seas"? Never done one of those before. $\endgroup$

    $\begingroup$ @kristinalustig In Nurikabe, the shaded squares are the seas. So a clue is unshaded, and it describes the number of unshaded squares in its contiguous group, the island. $\endgroup$
