Customer Reviews
Great content spoilt by poor production quality
The Guardian has a great political team and I’ve really welcomed the new Westminster Politics Weekly podcast with Pippa Crerar and Kiran Stacey. However the volume is so variable listening can become a hassle instead of a pleasure. I have just played the latest episode on the first leaders debate and spent most of the half hour trying to find a way of increasing the volume to a comfortable level.
Pippa Crerar
Getting Pippa Crerar to the Guardian is the equivalent of Man City signing Haarland . First Partygate and now Gamblegate. Back of the net!
Well meaning but far too corn and cheese
The Podcast of The Guardian of whom occasion listen to its ‘Today In Focus’ daily podcast, the papers opinion, political cutlural and media stories. Aware of this podcast when was presented by figures of its editors and correspondents. But with John Harris as host a well meaning nice enough polite and mild mannered personality. But one with too much corn and cringe cheesiness of the classic male journalist in Westminster trying to get the mood of what most people think. Rather than reporting on some of the heard hitting political stories of electoral, policing and bill of rights bills, government scandals and the geo-politics of United Kingdom in the post brexit age in a European conflict. There’s too much bantering and joshing of trivial small chat than analysing and telling the stories and journalism that is shaping our politics. This new age of the podcast may need to go back to the drawing room and focus on the strength of the power of good quality journalism. This is most definately lacking the nuance and the balance that the John Harris show lacks.
