Perhaps one of the best writers of all time. LL captures your intrigue from the beginning and holds your interest throughout the book, unable to put it down. He writes about the trials and errors of migrating to America, and the push for America to expand westward, he writes about respect, humanity and love on the frontier. Amazing man who researched his material before he wrote...

A very romantic version of the American frontier. Very different from J Fennimore Cooper, but engaging, and easy reading, if fairly unbelievable!

I love Louis L',Amour as an author and have read nearly all of his books. I was thrilled to be able to read his Sackett stories in sequence!!! To my delight I even discovered one I don't remember reading. Can't wait to read Volume 2!!!
