We have secured a new contract in the French market. Our company was selected in a tender issued by public transport authority Artois Mobilités in collaboration with the Transdev Group and the French central procurement office for public transport La Centrale d’Achat du Transport Public (CATP). The order comprises four Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses and will be completed at the beginning of 2025. "There are a number of arguments in favor of hydrogen. First of all, it is absolutely emission-free during operation. Additionally, there are significant advantages such as long ranges, a fast refueling process, flexibility in managing a fleet of hydrogen vehicles and a distinguishingly quiet ride. I congratulate Artois Mobilités on this decision and look forward to our cooperation," said Brice Bonavia, Director of Solaris France. The new contract strengthens our position as a leader in the European zero-emission vehicle market. In the hydrogen product segment, we offer buses in two lengths: 12 and 18 meters. These state-of-the-art solutions for public transportation have already been implemented in 25 cities across Europe. More than 220 Solaris Urbino hydrogen buses carry passengers in cities such as Barcelona, Bratislava, Frankfurt, Madrid, Poznan and Venice. Here are future professionals who recognise the potential of hydrogen in transport and the economy. It was our pleasure to be part of the H2 Academy - a project that gets us closer to a zero-emission future. June was the closing month of the H2 Academy. As part of it, thirty outstanding students attended a series of workshops and lectures at the universities and the headquarters of companies actively engaged in the development of the hydrogen economy. An unique hydrogen project, exceptional students and a fascinating look into the future. This is how we can sum up the H2 Academy. In recent months, a group of thirty outstanding students interested in development in the field of hydrogen technology have been expanded their knowledge and broadened skills under the supervision of the best experts from Poland and other countries in Europe. In April, students explored the arcana of public transport based on hydrogen during the workshops at our company's headquarters. Last Friday in Warsaw, we officially finished this edition of the H2 Academy. For us and a number of students, this is just the beginning of a new stage - we invited three of them to Solaris for an internship under the leadership of our experts. Hydrogen technology is one of the fastest growing sectors in Europe and is already perceived as one of the key elements of the energy mix of the future. Our company has been developing vehicles based on hydrogen cells since 2014, and in 2023, almost half of the hydrogen buses registered in Europe were Solaris buses. We believe that many years of our experience and our vision of future development, together with the enthusiasm of our new colleagues, will bring great results. Our company has secured new contracts with Nobina, the leading public transport operator in Sweden. It is yet another order for Solaris electric buses from an operator within a short period, reinforcing our position as a key player in providing environmentally friendly solutions for urban transport. This time Nobina has ordered a total of 88 electric buses. This includes 55 units of the Urbino 15 LE electric as reinvestment for Skåne region 15 units for Värmland, and 18 units of the Urbino 18 electric operating in the city of Malmö. “These new orders mark another significant step towards greener public transport solutions in Sweden. We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Nobina and be a part of the implementation of zero-emission solutions also in suburban transportation. We believe it is crucial for the global transformation of mobility” – said Olivier Michard, Member of the Management Board for Sales and Marketing in Solaris Bus & Coach. The electrification of transportation in Europe is making significant progress. This trend can also be seen in Sweden. To produce and sell the best buses, we must be the best in purchasing components for building them. Selecting the suppliers is another key stage in the process of manufacturing our vehicles. We use the highest quality components to build each Solaris vehicle. Our buyers from the Procurement Department are responsible amongst others in: sourcing, negotiating purchase conditions, signing the agreements or supplier qualification process. Each element to build Solaris buses and trolleybuses is carefully selected with future users in mind.   We provide the employees of the Solaris Procurement Department with all the opportunities to become masters of negotiations. We have received another order for hydrogen buses. This time, the zero-emission Solaris buses, totaling 15 units, will strengthen the public transport fleet in the German city of Gummersbach. The German public transport operator Oberbergische Verkehrgesellschaft (OVAG) has ordered 15 Solaris hydrogen buses. This is another step towards sustainable and eco-friendly mobility in the German market, achieved through our brand vehicles. The contract will be executed in 2025. "The high interest in Solaris hydrogen buses confirms the global changes in urban mobility. I am pleased that more and more cities are investing in sustainable public transport development, which is one of the few areas genuinely ready to fulfill the mission of emission neutrality. I am glad that our brand's vehicles are a symbol of this change," said Olivier Michard, Member of the Management Board of Solaris for Sales and Marketing. The order includes 15 Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses equipped with modern fuel cells with a total power of 70 kW. The hydrogen Solaris buses will feature Solaris High Power traction batteries, which support the fuel cell during peak electricity demand. The vehicles' drive unit will be a 160 kW central electric motor. The ordered Urbino hydrogen buses will be heated using a heat pump. #zeroemission #emobility #hydrogen #publictransport
