$\begingroup$ Then the emission spectra do not really affect the colour of things around us? I mean the absorption of some wavelengths and reflection of some other wavelength thing? $\endgroup$– Golden_HawkCommented May 23, 2023 at 17:14

5$\begingroup$ @Golden_Hawk Most of the things arounds us are not at the temperatures of thousands of Kelvin necessary to excite atomic transitions. $\endgroup$– ProfRobCommented May 23, 2023 at 18:35

3$\begingroup$ @Golden_Hawk a few things are, we call them "fluorescent". Got an UV flashlight? If not, get yourself one - it's a neat little toy to see what things glow when you shine UV on them. (don't shine it at anyone's eyeballs, including yours, including in a mirror. Don't shine it around cheap motel rooms if you don't want to feel disgusted) $\endgroup$– Stack Exchange Supports IsraelCommented May 23, 2023 at 23:41

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. quantum-mechanics), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
