$\begingroup$ Thanks for your answer. So technically speaking if I'm well understanding : if I want to prove charge conservation I have to include matter field $\Psi$ in the model, right? Actually, background sources $J^\mu$ tautologically satisfy continuity equation just because they are sources. Is that right? $\endgroup$
