I have only hiked Hawaii on long multi day trips but I can add:
- GORP (granolagranola, oreos, raisins, peanuts. Can substitute m+m sm+m's for the oreos) 2:
- dehydrated meals by Mountain House, or BP Pantry etc. bring spices to taste.
- any dried fruits to choice.
- energy bars.
- find local food in the hiking area you can enjoy, fish, harvest, scavenge
- have the other people carry more of the weight. Don't believe everything you read.
