On 30th May, we hosted our inaugural Chatty Chums x The Macallan ‘Meet Your Heroes’ event. The aim was to cultivate and nurture an open-arms community of like-minded powerhouse women who can lean on and learn from each other. By bringing female entrepreneurs and career seekers together, this intimate networking event created a space in which meaningful connections could be born. The tasty tipples by drinks genius Theodore Ian Tjandra worked very effectively to spark enthusiastic conversations. Needless to say, the excessive stock of cocktails was polished off effortlessly. Powered by The Macallan and iS CLINICAL at Bentley Motors, where incomparability intersect, we were present in a brief yet beautiful moment in which we honoured each other’s experiences of the past to guide our future. We met our heroes to become our own. Thank you so much to the illustrious heroes for sharing your personal journeys. You ignited inspiration, motivation and ambition within all of us. Eat your heart out. Our newest mindcrumbs columnist, the elusive talent Phoebe Watt is giving Sex and the City a run for their money.
I'm not writing a lot of editorial these days because frankly it doesn't pay enough. When your capacity is finite and your bills are expensive, your time has to go to the highest bidder, and that bidder tends to be a commercial client. Sophie Chung was recently the exception to this rule, both in terms of accepting my editorial rate and giving me a really good reason to accept an editorial job. That reason was an open brief to write about whatever I wanted for Chatty Chums’s latest Mindcrumbs column. I chose to write about what I call the effortless-to-unhinged pipeline in beauty, life and love. It's a bit cooked. It might be the best thing I've ever written.
