Carbon Limits’ Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and friends have been busy these days! Here is a quick update of the recent months:   ✅ 2 in 1: Delivering two workshops in one trip   In Jakarta, Indonesia – Paula Hoffmann, Gaëlle Bureau - Cauchois and Irina Ålund, with IFC - International Finance Corporation, and the support of , delivered a workshop on Enabling Carbon Capture and Storage in Indonesia. Paula shared our findings on the Indonesian legal and regulatory CCS framework and what could be the next steps to make the framework complete and applicable for the coming projects.   Gaëlle, together with Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), prepared a presentation on CO2 source-sink matching in Indonesia and showed the interest of developing hubs in some key regions while Irina talked about some of the key factors which make a CCS project successful. The workshop was very valuable as industry and government representatives shared their insights on the findings of Carbon Limits and ITB in panel discussions chaired by IFC.   In Dili, Timor Leste – the same team chaired a capacity building event for different representatives of the government on CCS. It was a very interactive day with quizzes, group discussions on the role each Ministry could/ should have in the development of a CCS project in the country. Carbon Limits would like to thank the The World Bank in Dili and the IFC infrastructure team for a great collaboration on this project.   ✅The publication of the roadmap and background report of Carbon Dioxide Removal in Norway with Carbon Gap. Big thanks to Ira, Malavika Venugopal, Gaëlle, Lauren Selleck, Anastasia Isaenko, Irina Semykina, Marton Leander Vølstad, Valentin Gentile as well as Perspectives Climate Group. Read the reports here: https://lnkd.in/eyEpx-Yh   ✅Participation to the French / Norwegian match making event with a key note from Gaëlle on the impact of CCS bilateral cooperation on achieving national climate goals and local value creation. Ambre Bossez was key in preparing the presentation.   ✅Maxime Malbranque, Gaëlle and Valentin Gentile were in Marseille for CCS project status meetings.   ✅And…the completion of several reports by our aforementioned CCS friends, including Fanny Lagrange. Some of these reports will be made public, so stay tuned!   🏖 Right now, it is time for some of us to take a break 😊   👀 For more information about the CCS projects Carbon Limits have done, have a look here: #ccs

🤝 Strong steps forward in collaboration to #CutMethane in Iraq alongside the Climate and Clean Air Coalition and other key stakeholders. 🧑🏫 We are delighted to have co-organized a workshop with the Government of Iraq to build capacity to #CutMethane within their government and provide support on methane mitigation action. 🛰️ During the workshop, we presented the Methane Alert and Response System (MARS), which puts satellite data directly into the hands of governments and companies so they can act on emissions. 💡 This included sharing analysis of 29 emission point sources observed in Iraq to be followed up on the ground, showcasing how MARS data can enable targeted action. Looking forward, UN Environment Programme's IMEO, Clean Air Task Force, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and Carbon Limits AS will work on a project – funded by Climate & Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) – to build capacity within the government of Iraq, develop a methane mitigation assessment, and provide policy guidance on methane emissions. 🟢 We welcome continued engagement and stand ready to support efforts to bridge the gap between methane data and on-the-ground climate action in Iraq and across the #MENA region.
