I recently had a very disappointing experience with Conversio.io. Despite understanding my subscription to be cancelled, I was hit with an unexpected US $299.00 charge. It turns out there was a recurring charge via PayPal that I wasn’t properly informed about. When I contacted Conversio.io, their response was unhelpful and rigid. They refused to issue a refund, citing their policy of no refunds for renewals and claiming they hadn’t received a cancellation request. This rigid stance feels like a trap for customers who may have missed the small print. In Australia, best practice for subscriptions is to provide renewal notifications to prevent these surprise charges. Unfortunately, Conversio.io doesn’t follow this approach. As a result, I’ve reported this to PayPal, Amex, and the ACCC, and I want to warn other potential users. Think twice before subscribing to Conversio.io if you want to avoid unexpected fees and poor customer support. I will be sharing this experience across WordPress, Magento, WooCommerce, Trustpilot, and other review platforms to protect others from falling into the same trap.

I REALLY want to love this plugin. I dropped $1k on an Enterprise subscription to include support and implementation services. We are now several months in and have had nothing but problems with the plugin. Entire DAYS and even WEEKS go by where the plugin fails to send any purchase revenue data to GA4 – literally its main purpose – it fails miserably at it. No rhyme or reason, some days we have data, some days we don’t. We’ve escalated this to their support team about 75 times. We have calls, they claim they are looking at it, most recently the offered a new local “first party solution” (4 days in and it’s still not up and running) (also not sure why we weren’t offered that initially, as that is what they advertise. 3 days ago in call we are exhausted and frustrated and ask them to take ownership of the failures and to log in every day and check data, to which they say they are going to do this. I wish I was surprised to say 2 days have just gone by with NO purchase data in GA4 again, no follow up or testing from Conversios (despite the fact they know they are supposed to be watching this daily). Sadly, you can’t trust this very expensive plugin to do it’s most basic function of tracking purchases to GA4! Support acts like it’s great and interested, then vanishes or doesn’t follow through. About to demand full $1k refund.

The plug works well and saves from having a lot of other plugins or custom code. The event tracking is key and makes it easy to work with google tag manager for woocommerce data. Also they are very responsive if you have an issue and were able to help diagnose if there was a setup issue. Highly recommend.

I have had nothing but success working with this plugin on multiple sites and in various scenarios. The plugin itself is great, does what it’s supposed to, and is easy enough to implement—but if you do find yourself stuck on a part, this support team will get you squared away. The latest implementation I used this for was an e-commerce site that is set up a little different, and I couldn’t figure out a couple of things. I contacted support, honestly expecting that not to go far (as is true with most plugin devs), but in the case of Conversios and the support I received – abolsutley top notch. Responsive, focused, detail-oriented, solved every issue/question I had, and pleasant to work with.
