Our founders Maarten and Dimitri started Loop back with a big idea. And a chronic ringing in their ears. Since then, we’ve helped more than 3,500,000 customers around the world to find quiet, enjoy great experiences and keep unwanted noise at bay.

In 2023 we grew from almost 100 Loopers to over 250 people. And that’s a number we would have to keep updating every month, as we are planning to double the team once again, this year.

Our headquarters are based in Antwerp, but with hubs in Amsterdam, Shanghai, and New York, we’re dotted all over the globe.

Not to brag about it, but we’ve recently won the EY Scale up of the year award, the Deloitte Fast50 award (for the second year in a row) and a couple of other amazing (international) prices. The New York Times named us ‘best earplugs for concerts’ and thousands of noise-sensitive customers call us a ‘life changer’.

6+ yrs in User Experience Design with consumer goods | Hybrid | Antwerp / Amsterdam

As a User Experience Designer specializing in consumer goods at Loop Earplugs, you will explore the vast complexities of auditory experiences and ear shapes to design earplugs that are universally effective and delightful to use. You will lead the charge in understanding varied user contexts and ear physiology to devise products that cater to a broad spectrum of auditory needs. By directly engaging with the entire product lifecycle, from concept through production, your leadership will ensure our earplugs not only meet but exceed user expectations with every interaction. You'll report to Louise, she's leading the user experience and insights team at Loop.

Enhancing User Experience through Design

In this pivotal role, you will:

• Develop strategic design roadmaps in close collaboration with founders and senior management, identifying and spearheading growth initiatives.
• Define and refine user profiles and journeys, ensuring that our designs cater to specific use environments and user needs.
• Lead user experience design within multidisciplinary teams, influencing product development from initial concepts to final engineering stages.
• Integrate seamlessly with the industrial design team, fostering a unified approach to product design and development.
• Implement best user experience practices and innovative analysis tools, continuously raising our design standards and inspiring your colleagues.
  
  

Your other responsibilities:

• Engage in continuous learning and development to stay ahead of industry trends and methodologies.
• Advocate for user needs throughout the product development process, ensuring that user-centered design principles are at the forefront of all development activities.
• Build and maintain effective cross-functional communication to ensure design alignment and coherence across all stages of product development.
  
  

How You’ll Succeed As a User Experience Designer

To thrive in this role, you will need a deep understanding of user behavior and a commitment to creating products that enhance user interactions. Key to your success will be your ability to:

• Navigate complex design challenges, turning intricate problems into user-friendly solutions.
• Lead through influence, effectively communicating your ideas and garnering support from team members across departments.
  
  

These key competences will set you up for success:

• Extensive experience in user experience design or industrial design within the hardware consumer goods sector.
• A strong foundation in user research methodologies and their application in product development.
• Advanced degree in Product Development, Industrial Design, or Usability Engineering.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with a knack for breaking down complex issues.
• Resilience in the face of challenges, maintaining a solution-oriented approach and positive outlook.
• Proficiency in visual communication, able to express ideas through sketches, graphs, and simulations.
• Regular availability to work from our offices in Antwerp or Amsterdam.
