Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to support the Innovation & Strategy (I&S) Head of Finance. I&S is part of Philips's broader central innovation function and hosts about 2500 employees. The business is active worldwide, notably in the USA, Netherlands, India, and China, and it acts in areas such as research, design, innovation engineering, and many more.

Your role:

• Co-managing the operations of the R&D function in the I&S Business Units, including course correction required to stay on track with financial and non-financial performance targets.
• Supporting strategic decisions through sound business analysis (bus. modeling, opportunity & risk assessments, scenario analysis, etc.) and interaction with business stakeholders.
• Monitoring the innovation assets on the balance sheet of the Business Units and the related Organizational Reporting Units (ORUs).
• Identifying risks and opportunities to current financial projections and taking corrective actions where needed (e.g., margin improvement, cost improvements, productivity improvement).
• Coordinating the innovation portfolio management process together with the R&D and strategy leaders.
• Conducting investment business case reviews.
• Managing relationships with other finance pillars, gathering inputs, and jointly ensuring financial control.
• Ensuring business integrity: driving adherence to GBP, revenue recognition. Monitoring and controlling functional processes and their execution for ICS/SOX compliance. Maintaining proper financial documentation.

The Innovation and Strategy Finance team is based in Eindhoven, Shanghai, and Bangalore.

You're the right fit if you have the following skills and experience:

• A curious mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Business savvy and political understanding to be able to interact with General Managers of businesses and functions.
• Regularly interacts with executives and major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior-level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
• Proven track record in the ability to balance speed and accuracy, allowing for continued speed in decision-making and execution.
• Relentless drive for results and proven leadership in driving performance.
• Frequently interact with functional peer groups. Interaction typically requires the ability to gain the cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules.
• Working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company.
• A proven track record in managing multi-functional teams, laterally and hierarchically, towards a common goal.
• Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• 5-8 years or more of progressive working experience and roles in, e.g., Finance, FP&A, financial control, management reporting, and analysis, preferably within an international environment.
• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Business Economics, Finance, Accounting or related studies.
