Position Summary

The Data Management department is at the forefront of enabling data-driven decisions by delivering scalable data products, supporting internal decision-making, and building a robust data foundation. You will take upon the challenge of bringing this amazing NGO's to the next level, improving the lives of people across the globe by shaping data driven policies and strategies.

The Senior Manager of Data Management, will play a crucial role in establishing the foundational data components needed to advance the data agenda. You will lead efforts to improve data quality across the organization and ensure ethical data sharing practices. The role involves defining, documenting, and deploying data standards across complex projects and overall data management activities. This role focuses on identifying the right frameworks for successful data management, sharing, and quality, and embedding these approaches within the organization.

The Data Management department leads all activities related to scalable data offerings and works closely with the entire organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust foundations of data governance, ethics, and quality across the organization to ensure data product credibility and optimal value generation.
• Define and drive the roadmap of the Data Management function.
• Provide leadership and oversight of the data management program and operational model.
• Drive organizational change, attitude shift, communication, and continuous education of business stakeholders on the value of data governance.
• Lead the implementation of the newly selected Data Catalogue tool.
• Ensure delivery within the Data Management team:
• Finalize and implement the data governance framework, onboarding and training data owners and stewards.
• Identify data quality rules and provide requirements for building data quality solutions and reports. Implement an early warning system for intervening actions and create a rating system for data quality levels.
• Establish data processes and integrate them into initiatives across the organization.
• Deliver training on data standards and data quality monitoring across the organization.
• Lead the Data Sharing Policy, indicating which data can be shared externally.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience with Data Management
• Experience setting up and implementing Data Governance Frameworks.
• Experience with Master Data Management.
• Experience with data catalogues.
• Experience with data classification.
• Experience with data quality frameworks (desired).
• Experience with GDPR (desired).
• At least 5 years of experience in people management, including coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
• Excellent influencing and facilitation skills with a proven ability to reconcile different stakeholder interests.
• Solid understanding of market standards and innovations in data management.
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Willing to travel up to 20% of the year
