PPG: Portfolio Development Amsterdam group
The Portfolio Development section is the R&D-department within the SBU Architectural Coatings (AC) EMEA for the current portfolio maintenance within the Wood & Wallpaint segment.
The Portfolio development labgroup in Amsterdam employs 11 technicians and chemists responsible for the development and maintenance of solvent-based and water-based paints for wood & waterbased wallpaints. The portfolio consists of products both for the professional (Trade) and the Do-It-Yourself-market. The group works closely together with the CoE Wood department and the CoE wallpaints department, both also based in Amsterdam.
Who are we looking for?
The PDev Amsterdam group has a position for a Coating technician/product developer whose main responsibility it is to maintain and further develop our current coating formulations for solventbased and waterbased wood lacquers. After a thorough on-the-job training, you will be responsible for the maintenance of our current product portfolio, complying with the highest market standards and legislative requirements.
As a Employee Product Development You Will
Start by getting acquainted with the key products in our product portfolio and by getting to know the internal departments you will cooperate with;
Produce paintformulations on labscale according to the requirements
Test the paintformulations according to the detailed test-plan
Optimise formulations of the present product portfolio;
Contact with the Supply organisation and raw material suppliers.
Be able to understand the function of key raw materials used;
Search for alternative raw materials to secure our production facility’s
Bring in your own ideas for improvement of or current portfolio
Your Profile - We Would Appreciate If You Have
A bachelor or master degree in chemistry (HBO niveau, of MBO met ervaring)
Formulating experience in the chemical industry, for instance gained during traineeships.
