Vopak reports strong Q1 2024 results and increases FY 2024 outlook.

On this International Youth Skills Day, the Vopak WeConnect Foundation proudly celebrates the inspiring ways Vopak colleagues empower young people around the world. Our colleagues in Venezuela exemplify this commitment through their remarkable project, "Supporting Young Leaders’ Skills." This project provided young adults from La Belisia with the entrepreneurial skills and knowledge needed to start their own businesses. Over 17 classes, students explored sustainable tourism, environmental stewardship, marketing techniques, and financial control. Our colleagues  shared their expertise on essential topics such as business ethics, leadership, legal compliance, and safety. The program culminated in the students presenting their innovative projects, showcasing all they had learned. The Vopak WeConnect Foundation is dedicated to supporting Vopak and our joint venture colleagues in initiating projects that empower local youth and connect them to a world of opportunities. Since 2017, Vopak WeConnect projects have impacted over 13,000 young participants, including many young women. Congratulations to the teams at Vopak Colombia Barranquilla Terminal for achieving the milestone of 8 years, and  Vopak Colombia Cartagena Terminal for 4 years free from reportable incidents This means that no one has been injured while working at the both terminals in those years, and there have been no spills. Recently, we celebrated Vopak WeConnect Foundation’s 7th anniversary 🎉 Since its start, the Vopak WeConnect Foundation has positively impacted the lives of over 13,000 children and young adults in the communities near Vopak locations. By organizing projects that are supported by the Vopak WeConnect Foundation, our colleagues open new horizons for them and pave the way for more sustainable and healthy lives. There is a remarkable diversity in the types of projects organized. These projects range from one-day events to multi-year initiatives. The themes are equally broad, encompassing everything from involving youngsters in marine conservation, sustainability programs, professional career guidance, and empowering young women to pursue careers in traditionally male-dominated fields within our industry. This collective effort would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our current and former colleagues. We are very grateful to each and everyone who has supported our mission during these years. Looking ahead, the Vopak WeConnect Foundation is actively exploring new ways to increase the impact in our communities and create more opportunities to volunteer. Congrats to our Banyan Caverns Storage Services team in Singapore on their 10th anniversary as they celebrate a decade of safe operations and exceptional customer stewardship. Banyan Caverns Storage Services was formed as a joint-venture partnership, between Geostock SAS, Surbana Jurong Infrastructure Pte Ltd and Vopak Terminals Singapore Pte Ltd to operate the Jurong Rock Caverns' first commercial underground rock caverns facility for the storage of liquid hydrocarbons in Southeast Asia. As a commercial underground storage facility, Jurong Rock Cavern not only enhances the existing network of integrated infrastructure on Jurong Island but further reinforces Singapore's position as a leading global energy and chemicals hub. On this milestone, Rob Boudestijn, President of Vopak Singapore said, “Our heartfelt thanks to JTC Corporation, Geostock and Surbana Jurong Group for the trust, support and collaboration in this long term partnership. Gasunie and Vopak started market consultation for LNG, hydrogen and CO2 at EemsEnergyTerminal in the Netherlands. We are exploring options to utilize this terminal beyond 2027 for security of energy supply and the energy transition. The results of this consultation may lead to an ‘open season’ where the required capacity is offered to the market in a transparent manner.
